Seriously, it's the easiest recipe you'll find! Simply put a whole lotta apples in your biggest stock pot, just as they are (no peeling, cutting, coring!)
- Add an inch of water to your pot, cover, and boil.
- Once steamin' good, turn down to simmer until the skins on your apples are cracking open and the white flesh from your apples is mushy.
- With a potato masher or just a large wooden spoon and the courage of your convictions, mush up the apples (it'll actually be so easy as the apples are super soft already)
- Push the apple mush through a sieve (I got mine at Dollarama) and refrigerate
- substituting in for butter when baking muffins or cakes
- a refreshing side to your roast pork
- OR on it's splendid own.
I did this today. It's amazingly easy and so much less waste. Why have I never heard of this before? Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteFound you via Jill. I agree. Why in the world have I dedicated hours of my life to peeling, coring, and dicing?! Awesome!
